Congratulations to our “Teachers of the Year” (Zucker Award) winners;
‘SENIOR WALK”….Graduation season is upon us. Pretty soon you will don a cap and gown, collect your diploma and head off to your futures, whatever it may hold. It’s an exciting time for Graduates to reflect on how far they’ve come. El Rancho high school started a tradition that provides that reflection for the departing seniors, while also inspiring the little ones at their former elementary schools who still have a ways to go in their school careers. It’s called the “Senior Walk” and will be on Monday, June 4th from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm. If you would like to participate in Senior Walk and visit your elementary in your cap and gown, please sign up with Lill in the Activities Office.
AVID IS SELLING DODGER TICKETS…See Gina in Activities Office to purchase, price is $20.00 give receipt to Mr. Porter in K-108 to reserve to ticket. Game is on May 23rd at 7:00 pm vs. the Colorado Rockies. Come out and support AVID. Transportation not available.
WANT TO JOIN EL RANCHO’S AWARD WINNING COLORGUARD?...Tryouts will be on 5/14-17 from 3:30-5:30, please come dressed with athletic attire and positive attitude. Don’t forget to bring water and meet in the band room C-4.
ALL SPORTS ATHLETIC SIGNING DAY WILL BE ON MAY 18 @LUNCH IN THE MAIN GYM…See Mr. Gadsden to be placed on the list.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS…Will be on May 14-17 from 3:30 – 6:00 PM in the main gym…come dressed and ready to play.
GLOW IN THE DARK DODGEBALL..May 21st – 25th…$20.00 per team. Sign- ups begin on 5/7 in the quad.
Frosh/Soph Powder Puff Flag Football game will be on 5/31 at 7 pm…….Students must be athletically cleared to participate. Students will purchase a jersey and sell 5 $5 tickets. There will be 2 practice opportunities prior to the game.
ATTENTION STUDENTS…If you did not take a ID Pic you may do so every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the Activities Office, after school only from 3-3:30 pm.
ATTENTION STUDENTS…The District is offering Athletic Accident Insurance for the 2017/18 school year. The District has made available for purchase, voluntary student and athletic accident insurance through the Student Insurance Company. The insurance provides broad coverage for 24-Hour, School-Time, Tackle Football and Extended Dental. All students participating in interscholastic sports (this includes cheerleaders, mascots, bands, drill teams, etc.) are required by the Education Code to have adequate accident/medical insurance. District procedures require all medical insurance interscholastic participants to certify accident/medical insurance coverage prior to participation. For more information please pick up form from the Activities Office.
STUDENTS…Please do not use $5.00 bills on the vending machines, refunds will not be issued.
CASHIER’S OFFICE HOURS FOR STUDENTS….You may do transactions before school, during lunch and after school until 3:30 pm. DO NOT COME DURING CLASS TIME OR NUTRITION TO CONDUCT TRANSACTIONS.
ATTENTION STUDENTS…Non El Rancho Hats are not allowed on campus. It is a violation of the dress code to wear a non-El Rancho hat. Any students who has a hat will have it confiscated and it will only be returned at the end of the school year. Also, skateboards need to be locked during the school day on the skateboard rack that is provided. Students must bring their own locks. Any skateboard not locked will be confiscated and will only be returned when a lock is produced. Thank you for your support in this matter.
JUST A REMINDER ON DRESS CODE…halter, see through blouses or clothing, low necklines, open back tops and tube tops are considered inappropriate. Shorts or skirts which are shorter than mid thigh are considered too short. Printing on clothing that can be deemed offensive is not allowed. If you are found violating dress code you will have to change into school issued attire and the confiscated article of clothing will not be returned until the end of the school year. Repeated violations of dress code may result in suspension.

2018 ARMS WIDE OPEN AWARD…..This scholarship is open for any student who has the desire to pursue higher education. All 2 and4 year degree college applicants are welcome to apply. We welcome students of all backgrounds and ethnicities. 2.0 GPA Requirement with no F’s D’s or U’s in Citizenships. Whatever your goals are we want to know and we want to wish you all the success in the world! Applications available in the Activities Office.
