(10th grade students require prior approval from their counselor AND the teacher of the course to take this class.)
Through the application of the scientific method, students investigate group behavior, structure, and interaction in order to address social issues surrounding gender, education, religion, health, and the family. This semester long course requires the analysis of current events, the application of sociological terminology and theory, and the proposal and consequential communication of solutions to problems we face on a daily basis. As a result, this course is favorably discussion based. In the process, students learn about the career opportunities associated with a degree in the social sciences.
