DONS…The Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council is a unique opportunity for high school students within the District to share feedback, experiences and perspectives on a variety of topics and issues affecting school programs.  Be a part of this experience and elevate student voice.  Pick up application from the Activities Office.

 

Hey Dons, Happy Homecoming Week!  Finally what we've all been waiting for... our top 3 underclassmen candidates and our top 5 senior candidates. 

Our top 3 freshmen candidates are... Jade Luna, Alicia Zarate, Faith Adawale, Xavier Contreras, Nathan Carlos, and Raymond Madrid.

Our top 3 Sophomore candidates are...Allison Campos, Sophia Garcia, Carolina Guiterrez, Jayden Rodriguez, David Nunez, and Abraham Jimenez.

Our top 3 Junior candidates are... Cristal Moran, Bobbie Torres, Genesis Castolo, Diego Zamora, Isaac Guevada, and Joshua Encinas. 

And finally, our Top 5 Senior Hoco candidates are... Audrinnah Guerrero, Crystal Villasenor, Mia Islas, Laura Estrada, Jessica Sanchez, Daniel Robledo, Johnny Rodriguez, Nikko Diaz, Mauricio Martinez, and Brandon Curiel.

Get your tickets to the Power 106 game on September 28 at 7 pm.  Watch our staff and alumni battle the Power106 all-stars and celebrity guests on the court.  Special hip hop show at half time with a secret guest.  Use gofan, ask Coach Porter in K108, or a boys basketball player for details.  Presale is $7 and it is $10 at the door.  

 

 

Dons...El Rancho High school is transitioning to a digital PBIS Rewards program.  Our last Don Dollar drawing using paper Don Dollars will take place on September 29.  Please clean out your backpacks and turn in all of your Don Dollars that you have been hanging on to.  We will even take Don Dollars from last year!  Turn in your Don Dollars in the box in Activities for a chance to win one of our Amazing prizes!

 

Hey El Rancho,  did you know that we have a Rio Hondo Counselor at our Campus every week? Rio Hondo will have a Counselor in the College and Career Center every Tuesday from 7:30 AM- 4:00 PM. Whether you are looking to graduate from Rio Hondo College or transfer out. We have the support for you. Stop by to get assistance in applying for Rio Hondo, register for your first college course, or learn more about your future career.

HEY DONS ARE YOU READY FOR THE NIGHT PEP RALLY….On Thursday, 9/21 AT 7:00 PM in the main gym.  Don’t forget to dress according to theme……Here are the Themes and colors:

Freshmen – Candyland – Wear White and Pink

Sophomores – Avatar – Wear Teal and Purple

Juniors – Jurassic Park – Wear Dark Green and brown

Seniors  – Spider Man – Wear Blue and Red

 

ASB CARDS ARE ON SALE NOW…For only $50.00 gain Free admission to all of the home football and basketball games, discounts on all of the dances, yearbook discount, and FAST PASS to the Night Pep Rally and Don Games.  Two additional Graduation Tickets – Senior Only.  Don’t delay!

 

 

 

Our annual class competition Night Pep Rally will be on Thursday, September 21 at 7:00 pm in the main gym.  Students must be in possession of their ERHS ID card for entry.  Students may enter at 6:16 pm at their designated grade level entrance.  Because of the limited space, you will not be allowed in with any bags or backpacks.  Parents and guests are welcome to enter and sit upstairs just before the start of the performance if space is available.  Please caution your parents there is no guarantee that they will get in.  The gym may fill at any time, and because of Fire and Safety regulations we may have to limit the number of occupants.  Thank you. 

 

Attention Dons! Do you want to earn credit for both college and high school? Rio Hondo College is offering three dual enrollment classes on site. Art of Mexico, Intro to Administrative Justice, and Intro to Automotive and Repair. To learn more about these classes, stop by the College & Career Center today. 

 

DONS…Help keep our campus clean.  Make sure to throw away your trash during lunch in the nearest trash can.

 

 

The El Rancho High School Homecoming Dance will be held at Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Whittier, Ca. Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 7PM to 11PM

 

 

YEARBOOKS ON SALE NOW…For $90.00, please purchase from the Cashiers Office.  Price will increase after the Winter Break…Don’t Delay.

 

CASHIERS/ACTIVITIES OFFICE. Reminder – Cashier’s Office hours are before school, at lunch and after school until 4 pm to conduct business.  Cash, cashier’s check, money orders and ATM/Debit cards are the only forms of payment.  SORRY – NO PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED. 

 

REMINDER…Food sales on campus must be approved.  Food items being sold by students or adults may be confiscated. 

 

School Activities ( New Update-Important Please Read)
Students who violate school rules, violate California Education Code 48900, have suspensions, are tardy (15 or more tardies) or truant (10 or more days) will be placed on a non activity list, assigned Saturday School and will be unable to participate in the following events/activities : Night Pep Rally, Sporting Events (football Games, Basketball Games etc.), School Dances (Prom/Homecoming/Winterformal, etc), and will be unable to participate in Homecoming/Winterbell/Prom Court.

 

El Rancho Dons Dress for success : In accordance with ERUSD Board Policy, ERHS students are expected to dress appropriately for the educational setting. The following items are prohibited:

·  Any article of clothing related to gang/crew attire

·  Hats/Hoods are prohibited inside the classroom

·  Immodest or revealing clothing

·  Any clothing that contains inappropriate language, symbols or messages

·  Jewelry or accessories that could cause injury or be used as a weapon is prohibited.

REMINDER TO STUDENTS…Attendance & Punctuality matter….get to class on time!

As a reminder, ERHS students are expected to follow the Don Code: Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn.  Students who do not meet these expectations are subject to removal from any of our events; removal from an event could also lead to suspension and exclusion from future ERHS events. 

 

 

ATTENTION ATHLETES….Athletic Clearance forms are available on the Don Page, under Activities.  If you will be participating in a sport this year, you must be physically cleared. 

 

ATTENTION STUDENTS…The District is offering Athletic Accident Insurance for the 2023/24 school year.  The District has made available for purchase, voluntary student and athletic accident insurance through the Student Insurance Company.  The insurance provides broad coverage for 24-Hour, School-Time, Tackle Football and Extended Dental.  All students participating in interscholastic sports (this includes cheerleaders, mascots, bands, colorguard) are required by the Education Code to have adequate accident/medical insurance.  District procedures require all medical insurance interscholastic participants to certify accident/medical insurance coverage prior to participation.  For more information please pick up form from the Activities Office.

 Senior order week dates: Monday, November 13th  – Saturday, November 18th 

Our local office will be mailing the graduation and class jewelry ordering packets home to each senior.  We will then encourage students to place their orders online or by mail during “Jostens Senior Week.” This will be the best time for seniors to place their orders, since they will be able to receive discounts and special gifts.  (Everything we will do this week will be virtual/online. 

 

Senior Yearbook Ads…Will now be available.   Please do not send materials to the school.  All orders must be placed by the deadline 12/22/2023.
