COLLEGE TUTORS ARE HERE TO HELP!..In Person.  Tutoring is available in the upstairs library before school 8am EXCEPT TUESDAYS at lunch M-F EXCEPT Tuesdays after school until 4:30 M-F EXCEPT Tuesday.


HEY DONS…Don’t forget to purchase an ASB Card for $50.00 you get Free Admission to all of the Home Varsity Football and Basketball Games, Discounts on all the Dances and Yearbook, Free Athletic Patches for verified Varsity Athlete.  Extra Perk for Seniors only – 2 Additional Commencement tickets.  Purchase from the Don Page or Cashier’s Office.


Our annual class competition Night Pep Rally will be on Thursday, October 6th at 7:00 pm in the main gym.  Students must be in possession of their ERHS ID card for entry.  Students may enter at 6:16 pm at their designated grade level entrance.  Because of the limited space, you will not be allowed in with any bags or backpacks.  Parents and guests are welcome to enter and sit upstairs just before the start of the performance if space is available.  Please caution your parents there is no guarantee that they will get in.  The gym may fill at any time, and because of Fire and Safety regulations we may have to limit the number of occupants.  Thank you.

Juniors: Theme Joker and Class colors are Purple and Green

Seniors: Theme Horror and Class colors are Red and Black

Wear your favorite team jersey/swag.  Wednesday:  SOCK IT to Silence, Crazy Sock Day.  Thursday:  Wear College gear and LOOK OUT for your community.  Friday:  Blue Out.  Celebrate your community and show your SCHOOL SPIRIT!  Hope to see everyone participate!


HOMECOMING COURT NOMINATIONS…..begin TODAY Wed 9/21 at lunch in front of the Activities OfficeNominees must have a 2.0/no U's and no more than one “N”.   Homecoming voting will take place on Wed. 9/28.

Don Dollars….Our next Don Dollar Raffle will take place on September 30th. Please be sure to give your students Don Dollars for being Responsible, Respectful and Ready to learn! We will continue to use the light blue Don Dollars for the month of September. Remind students to turn them into the Activities office.

FINANCIAL AID NIGHT…Will be on Monday, 9/26 from 5-6pm in English Presentation Room K-101 (Little Theater) Spanish Presentation in the ERHS Library.  Learn about the 2 different Financial Aid applications, how to prepare for the Financial Aid application and the steps you need to take to submit your application


Soka University of America will be visiting ERHS on September 22, 2022 during lunch. Soka University is a private university located in Aliso Viejo, California. If you would like to learn more information about Soka University,please come to the CCC to sign up for this presentation.


Library announcement: Students are required to check out a pass by the end of nutrition if you plan to come into the library at lunch time. Also, don't forget to add the library google classroom for more information.


In person and 24/7 online tutoring available…..In-person and online tutoring at El Rancho High School. In-person tutoring is available to our students before school, at lunch and after school every week day except for Tuesdays. In-person tutoring is located in the upstairs library tutoring room. If a student is struggling on an assignment outside of school hours, remember that they also have access to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Please take advantage of these opportunities to help you understand academic content and maintain good grades.

THE EMILY SHANE FOUNDATION…Now Hiring!  El Rancho students work as mentor/tutors for nonprofit charity.  To take place at three middle sites in Pico Rivera.  Go to the College/Career for more information and pick up application.


CASHIERS/ACTIVITIES OFFICE..Reminder – Cashier’s Office hours are before school, at lunch and after school until 3:30 pm to conduct business.  Cash, money order and ATM/Debit cards are the only forms of payment.  SORRY – NO PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED. 


ATTENTION DONS…Need a poster made for (birthday, Hoco proposal, sports etc) Pick up a Order form from the Activities Office.  Small $5, Medium $10 and Large $15. 


REMINDER…Food sales on campus must be approved.  Food items being sold by students or adults may be confiscated. 


El Rancho Dons Dress for success : In accordance with ERUSD Board Policy, ERHS students are expected to dress appropriately for the educational setting. The following items are prohibited:

·  Any article of clothing related to gang/crew attire

·  Hats/Hoods are prohibited inside the classroom

·  Immodest or revealing clothing

·  Any clothing that contains inappropriate language, symbols or messages

·  Jewelry or accessories that could cause injury or be used as a weapon is prohibited.

REMINDER TO STUDENTS…Attendance & Punctuality matter….get to class on time!


College tutors are available every day during lunch & after school  M/W - 3:30 & T/ Th - 4:30 in the upstairs library


As a reminder, ERHS students are expected to follow the Don Code: Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn.  Students who do not meet these expectations are subject to removal from any of our events; removal from an event could also lead to suspension and exclusion from future ERHS events. 



ATTENTION ATHLETES….Athletic Clearance forms are available on the Don Page, under Activities.  If you will be participating in a sport this year, you must be physically cleared. 



ATTENTION STUDENTS…The District is offering Athletic Accident Insurance for the 2022/23 school year.  The District has made available for purchase, voluntary student and athletic accident insurance through the Student Insurance Company.  The insurance provides broad coverage for 24-Hour, School-Time, Tackle Football and Extended Dental.  All students participating in interscholastic sports (this includes cheerleaders, mascots, bands, drill teams, Night Pep Rally skit participants etc.) are required by the Education Code to have adequate accident/medical insurance.  District procedures require all medical insurance interscholastic participants to certify accident/medical insurance coverage prior to participation.  For more information please pick up form from the Activities Office.

SENIOR PORTRAITS…Its’ not too late to make a pic appointment.  Deadline to have Senior Pic taken for the yearbook is October 1st.   Appointment email is on the Don Page.  Don’t Delay. 



October 24th – 28th

Jostens will be mailing the graduation and class jewelry ordering packets home to each senior.  Please make sure to place your orders online or by mail during “Jostens Senior Week.” This will be the best time for Seniors to place their order, to be able to receive discounts and special gifts. 


SENIOR SUNRISE AT ERHS…All Seniors welcome to gather at the Break of Dawn to enjoy the beautiful sunrise.  Friday, September 30, 6:30 – 8:00 am next to the stadium.  Food will be provided.  Bring chairs and blankets.
