Call to order
SSC Chairperson, Alfred Renteria called to order the regular meeting at 5:04 PM in the school library.
SSC quorum was confirmed by the school site secretary

IV. Approval of minutes from last meeting
School site council members individually read the May 2, 2012 meeting minutes.Esther Mejia motioned to approve the minutes with no corrections / Sydney Woo seconded.

• Information/Discussion Items
• Student representatives report- 

Adam: ASB was involved in assisting staff in the passing out of student schedules the week before school started. On August 21st, the football team played their second pre-season game against Diamond Ranch H.S. After the game, there was a Welcome Back Dance.
Sydney: On Friday, September 7th, the football team played Bell Gardens and came out with a win. Next game is against Montebello H.S. on September 14th.
Mia: Back to School Night is on September 20th with a minimum day on September 21st. The Power 106 basketball game will follow Back to School Night.
Francisco: On September 21st, the football team will play Clovis East of Fresno. On September 28th, there will be a Club Fair, at lunch, in the quad.

•  Special Education: Mr. Larrache- This is the first year that Special Ed. Is officially a department. Meetings will be held monthly. Freddy Larrache is the Instructional Manager.
• EIA SCE/ EIA LEP:  Budget to be presented at October 3rd meeting
• Title One: Title One SWP to be discussed next meeting
• GATE-  No report 
• Administration-   Mr. Genis
• School opened smoothly with very little glitches. The year opened with Olweus Bullying training for teachers and administrators.
• The Federal Programs Monitoring team will visit the district and selected schools for validation.  They will begin their visit on October 22, 2012 and conclude on
• October 26, 2012. FPM will visit ERHS on 10-25-2012. More information will follow on October 3rd.
• Back to School Night will take place on September 20th with a Minimum Day on September 21st. Power 106 game to follow BTSN.

Separate Action items

• a)            Mr. Genis distributed the Title One SWP for review and advise. It will be approved at the October 3rd School Site Council meeting.

•          b) Mr. Genis distributed the School Parent Compact and Parent Involvement Policy for review and advisement. To be approved at October 3rd SSC meeting.

  Public Comment-   

• Mrs. Mejia had a concern in regards to students being charged for copies of transcripts./ Mr. Genis informed Mrs. Mejia that only students who have graduated were being charged for transcripts.
• Mrs. Mejia stated that she knew about CST incentives but asked if there were any incentives for students passing their AP exams./ Mr. Genis stated that each AP teacher has their policy or incentive for passing the AP exam.
• Mrs. Mejia requested an update of the bond. Mr. Renteria informed her that he would get the appropriate information.
• Mrs. Villeneda had some concerns about teacher’s using different rules for classrooms. She suggested universal classroom rules for all students.
