Call to order
SSC Chairperson, David Angelo called to order the regular meeting at 5:04 PM in the school library.

Approval of minutes from last meeting
School site council members individually read the meeting minutes. James Haley motioned/ Dr. Aurora Villon 2nd approval of the March 2, 2011 minutes.
Information/Discussion Items
- Student representatives report-
- Boys Varsity Soccer defeated Oak Hills for CIF Championship
- Winter formal held on February 12, 2011 at Mile Square Golf Course
- Academic Decathlon finished 6th overall in Los Angeles County out of 60 schools
- Mother Daughter Dessert held February 23, 2011, in the cafeteria. Very successful
- Sadie Hawkins Dance to be held March 18, 2011
- DAC report- Alfred Renteria Jr. and David Angelo reported The Homeless student’s policy. There are 30 students that are being served and most likely more. Some are not being reported due to unforeseen reasons. There was a question on how students were identified? It was stated that teachers identified students through a series of paperwork and that it was totally confidential. There were also concerns from parents who felt parent workshops should be held on how to communicate with my son or daughter.
- DELAC report – It was stated by Sarita Mota that some parents are not aware of the reclassification process. Mr. Genis stated that few parents attend the reclassification meeting.
- Special Education- Mr. Gutierrez’s report is attached to the minutes.
- EIA SCE/ EIA LEP There may be a rollover of funds for next year.
- GATE- No report/funds have been swept.
- Administration- Mr. Genis reported
- Decathlon team will compete at the state level on March12-14.
- Mr. Genis distributed the results of the Los Angeles County Academic Decathlon
- Mr. Genis again reminded the parents about the Sunday meeting with WASC.
Separate Action items
a)WASC Information
WASC visit is scheduled for March 13th, 14th and 15th. They will want to meet with parents on Sunday the 13th. A WASC revisit cheat sheet was distributed which contained the schedule, goals and objectives and programs of interest.
b) Parent Project
Tabled to April meeting.
c) Montebello Bus Lines – Presented by Raul Elias, teacher ERHS
- Mr. Elias has attended many meetings with Montebello Bus Lines and city officials to add more buses to the morning schedule. To his credit, Montebello will now run buses every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes beginning April 11.
- Mr. Elias also reminded the Council that Passons Blvd. will officially shut down on April 15, 2011. This closure could last two years.
- Mr. Elias also informed the SSC of the informational meeting that will take place on April 7, 2011, at 7:00 PM, in the cafeteria. This meeting will inform parents on the closure of Passons Blvd. and the additional buses that will be added to the morning schedule.
d) Naviance is up and running. Mr. Ortiz is working with Naviance to distribute log in information.
Public Comment
- Dr. Villon reported that there was still an issue with gates. Mr. Genis stated that the back gate will reopen an April 15
- Pat Gomez informed the SSC on the success of the water polo team
