  1.  CALL TO ORDER--Josie Cambero called the meeting to order at 5:04pm.

  1.  COMMITTEE REPORTS

        a)ASB Report

PAST:  Last week was Homecoming week and Red Ribbon Week.  Homecoming kick-off was on Monday.  Each class had to decorate a gate according to their Night Pep Rally theme.  Homecoming games were played during lunch also.  Tuesday was Blue Pride Runway where class presidents and their advisors walked down the runway and showed everyone their blue pride.

PRESENT:  Wednesday was Homecoming Food Carnival.  Clubs, sports and classes sold a wide range of items to fundraise.  Thursday was the 32nd annual Night Pep Rally.  Friday was the Homecoming assembly, game and dance.  Princes and Princesses were crowned.  El Rancho played against Pioneer and lost 33-39.  

FUTURE:  ASB is working on the canned food drive.  They will be collecting cans during fourth period until November 13th.  ASB is also planning for Powder Puff.

        b)Special Education Report--RSP students are continuing to utilize extra tutoring offered during lunch to ask questions, get extra help and catch up on assignments.  On College Day, our Mod/Severe population participated as well.  It was modified in which they were exposed to College Vocabulary.  Also, some students from our Mod/Severe population also participated in the Choir Recital.  

        c)DAC/DELAC Reports--Josie Cambero reported that the District Parent Involvement is going well, however there are some barriers with improving parent participation.  There is going to be a Parent Education Conference on November 14th.  Also, a Parent Institute is tentatively scheduled for November 21st at Pico Park.

        

        d)Principal’s Report--There is a Parents to Parents workshop on 11/21.  The goal is for ERUSD parents to work together.  College Day was on October 14th and next year we will modify a few things.  Feedback was received from staff.  Achieve UC took place on 11/03/2015.  UC Irvine is our partner school.  To increase parent involvement, there was a Parent/Alumni event in which there was a good turn-out.  A Community Night is being planned for during basketball season.  Picture yourself at the Ranch involving the 8th graders will be happening on the following dates: November 18th-Rivera, December 2nd-STEAM Academy at Burke, and December 9th-North Park.  There is going to be a Parent College trip to UC Irvine on December 5th.  

  1.  LEGAL REQUIREMENTS--SPSA changes were inputted.  Goal #1-spelled out LTEL, Goal #2-additional time for teachers to meet was added (additional monies) and Goal #3-15 teachers trained in AVID Critical Reading 1 and 2  (additional monies).  Parent Education classes were offered as well which will be starting in spring.  SPSA was approved by SSC.
