Call to order
SSC Vice-Chairperson, Teresa Villegas called to order the regular meeting at 5:04 PM in the school library.
SSC quorum was confirmed by the school site secretary

IV. Approval of minutes from last meeting
School site council members individually read the September 12, 2012 meeting minutes. Esther Mejia motioned to approve the minutes with corrections / Alicia Villegas seconded.

- Student representatives report-
Adam: Football team ended its pre-season schedule. League starts on Friday against Cal High. It is Homecoming and they will crown the Homecoming queen at halftime. Back to School Night went well along with the Power 106 basketball game.
Sydney: Club Fair was September 28th. Power 106 game was successful. Homecoming week was full of Blue Pride.
Mia: Blue Pride Day took place on Tuesday, October 2, 2012.
Francisco: Carnival took place today, during lunch. Night Pep Rally is this Thursday night. Friday, at lunch, they will announce the homecoming court princesses. Queen will be crowned at the halftime show.

- Special Education: Mr. Larrache- General Education teachers to be paid for attending IEP meetings per ERFT contract.
- EIA SCE/ EIA LEP: FPM visit on October 25, 2012.

- Back to School Night was successful along with the Power 106 game.
- The Federal Programs Monitoring team will visit the district and selected schools for validation. They will begin their visit on October 22, 2012 and conclude on October 26, 2012. FPM will visit ERHS on 10-25-2012.
- Due to the change in by-laws, we need to elect officers every year. A special session needs to take place for elections. It is recommended that a special meeting take place for election of officers. It was agreed to hold a special session on October 10, 2012 strictly for election of officers.
Separate Action items
- a) Title One SWP presented. Motion to approve by Debbie Goodall and seconded by Alfredo Martinez.
- b) Mr. Genis distributed the School Parent Compact and Parent Involvement Policy for review and advisement. It was suggested by Esther Mejia to review and revise the SPC. We need to look at what other schools are placing on the SPC. She will also bring Rivera M. S. SPC. This discussion will take place at the November meeting. After revising the SPC, we will review and revise the Title One Parent Involvement Policy.
Public Comment-
- Debbie thanked all who voted for her.
- Ruth Villaneda was disappointed with the BTSN turnout. She stated that our school community needs a kick in the pants.
- Mrs. Villeneda had a concern about the dress code when it comes to outside school activities. She was referring to a car wash that was held and some students not following school dress code. Wants it brought to club advisors and coaches attention. Mrs. A. Villegas suggested teachers offer extra credit to students to increase parent participation.
